Taormina Film Fest, is an historical film festival of Italy since 1955 otganized this year by Videobank and under the artistic direction of Silvia Bizio and Gianvito Casadonte – willl take place from June 30th to July 6th 2019.
Since it takes over a Mediterranean identity in 2007, the festival has become a focal point for the film culture of this region. The festival is a great “showcase” of important premieres of films from Hollywood and around the world. Each year the festival presents a selection of first-run movies international or global.
Italians main summer event , which takes place in the beautiful location of the Teatro Antico in Taormina (Messina ), one of the most important and impressive monuments in Sicily. Organized by the Committee Taormina Arte with the generous support of the Sicilian Region , the Ministry of Heritage and Culture , the City of Taormina and other important institutions and private sponsors , the festival has continued to enhance its importance . Provided several moments of great cultural profile but also glamorous evenings full of international stars. At the end of Filmfest , festival of modern cinema which combines the glamour of the location and the great Star with the thickness of a program of global significance, the delivery of the Nastri d’ Argento.
